THE LITTLE PRINCE is an English language computer-animated and stop-motion fantasy film, loosely based on the book of the same name by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. In this adaptation, a little girl befriends an elderly aviator who tells her a story about a lonely young prince who fell to Earth.

Theme

There is an overarching theme of learning acceptance of loss and bereavement, as characters say sad farewells but find that they can still see each other if they 'look with their hearts'. The deaths of several characters are alluded to but not depicted on screen. Although the theme is sensitively handled, younger viewers may still find it upsetting.

A character allows himself to be bitten by a snake in order to leave his body behind and embark on a journey.
