THE LITTLE MERMAID is an animated adventure about a young mermaid who makes a deal with a witch to spend three days on land to find her true love.

Threat

There are occasional scenes of very mild threat, such as characters being chased by a shark, characters encountering a witch who transforms into an immense size and creates a storm, and characters being forced to abandon a burning ship at sea. In one scene, a crab finds himself in a kitchen in which a chef is preparing dead fish for cooking; the chef chases the crab around the kitchen with various utensils and attempts to cook him. However, heroic characters ultimately escape without being harmed, and elements of humour often undercut the sense of threat.

In one scene a female character comically shakes her bottom while singing about the importance of "body language" in attracting a man.
