Note: The following text may contain spoilers

LIFE OF PI is a drama in which a man recalls his childhood experience of surviving a shipwreck in the Pacific Ocean.

Language

There is occasional use of mild bad language ('pissing').

Threat

A ship is caught in a storm and sinks. The sequence is prolonged and features humans and animals trying to escape the ship, and although tense and exciting there is a sense of danger and tragedy as the hero realises his family have drowned. After the storm, the hero must survive on board a life raft with other animals, including a Bengal tiger who occasionally lunges and growls at him. However, the emphasis is on the protagonist's resourcefulness and determination to survive.
