A LIAR'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY - THE UNTRUE STORY OF MONTY PYTHON'S GRAHAM CHAPMAN is an animated comedy based on the autobiographical memoir of the late Monty Python member Graham Chapman. It charts key periods in his life from childhood, through his teens and young adulthood, to alcoholism, life as a 'Python' and beyond. It was rated 15 for strong language, sex and sex references.

The film contains about a dozen uses of strong language, none of which are particularly aggressive.

The sex scenes are animated and occur during Chapman's period of alcoholism. We see him take women back to his hotel room where they straddle him, with some breast and pubic hair nudity. We also see an orgy scene while Chapman reads out his alternative Biblical code that talks about sex being for fun rather than procreation. We see various images of sexual thrusting and there are a number of briefer sexual moments, including Chapman's relationships at Cambridge and his early homosexual experiences, one of which results in cream being squirted over a cake, with a joke being made about the obvious visual metaphor. However there is no strong nudity or genital detail and the tone is comic. The sex references include a rendition of the Python song 'Sit on my Face', which celebrates oral sex, and another song about Sexually Transmitted Infections which is medically accurate rather than gratuitously sexual. The humour is unlikely to confound the expectations of fans of Chapman's work and that of the Monty Python team.

The film also contains some comic animated violence, such as sight of a man eating himself. It is clearly ridiculous and excessively bloody in the tradition of 'over the top' comedy. There are also uses of mild and moderate bad language, including 'twat'.

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.
