THE LESSON is a Bulgarian drama in which a schoolteacher finds herself in crisis as she becomes indebted to loan sharks.

Language

In one scene, a man calls a woman a 'c**t' as he threatens her. The film also contains strong language ('f**k' and 'motherf**ker') and mild bad language, including 'shit', 'asshole' and 'crap'.

Sex

Strong sex references occur during a scene in which a man threatens a woman that, if she can't pay him back, she'll have to perform various sexual acts.

There's also some mild threat in CCTV footage showing someone waving a gun around during a bank robbery.
