THE KILLING OF AMERICA is a documentary, from 1981, examining the phenomenon of violent death in the US, covering murders, serial killings and political assassinations.

Disturbing images

There are frequent images of dead bodies, from bloody remains seen lying in streets through to gruesome images of bodies being cut open during post mortem examinations.

Violence

There are images of strong real violence, including an image of a man being shot in the head. There are also verbal references to the violent acts of a number of serial killers.

There is strong language ('motherf**ker') and sexual images, including pornographic magazines and sex toys in a sex shop.
