JUST JIM is a British comedy drama about a lonely and bullied teenager who is given the chance to increase his credibility when a cool American moves in next door.

Language

There are multiple uses of strong language ('motherf**ker' and 'f**k'). Other bad language includes ‘shit’, ‘bitch’, ‘bloody’ and ‘dick’.

Sex

There are occasional strong visual and verbal sex references, including a rough line-drawing of genitals on a poster and a girl telling a teen that he makes her ‘wet’. A boy is also advised to "avoid oral, it’s too complicated" and at a party a girl kisses down a teen boy's stomach before disappearing below the edge of the screen for implied oral sex.

Suicide

A young man is briefly seen running a knife across the inside of his wrists, leaving a bloody line behind on the skin. He is later seen to have his wrists bandaged up but is otherwise unharmed. It is not made entirely clear whether he was attempting to take his own life or self-harming.

Other issues include some drug use as a teen smokes a joint with friends in a car. There is also some more drug and alcohol use at a party.

There are some moments of bullying as a teen is called names and pushed around by his school mates. The characters who carry out the bullying are portrayed as unpleasant.

There are some moments of moderate violence including a throat cutting in a black and white spy film, with the victim's hand hiding the wound. A man also repeatedly slams a car boot on someone's head but the impacts are kept off screen and the victim is only seen to have some blood on his forehead afterwards.
