JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN

JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN is a comedy sequel about a bumbling secret agent who is called back from voluntary exile to track down a secret assassin sect and uncover a mole inside MI7. The film was classified 'PG' for mild language, violence and sex references.

The BBFC's Guidelines at 'PG' state there may be 'Mild bad language only'. The film includes a few uses of mild bad language, including uses of 'bastard' and 'turd'. The sex references mainly arise from English's misreading of certain situations. He takes the efficiency of a stewardess to be flirtatious and tells her he likes to "work hard, play hard." Later on, a female agent advises him to hide by telling him to go to the "bedroom, quick" to which he replies, with a lascivious grin on his face, "well certainly." The Guidelines at 'PG' state there may be 'Mild sex references and innuendo only'.

The film also contains frequent scenes of violence, although the violence is mild in nature and generally played in a comic fashion. Many of the sequences feature martial arts moves and a great deal of slapstick and farce. In one scene, a woman throws knives at English. However, his use of a cheese board to defend himself adds some levity to the scene and lessens the impact of the violence. The Guidelines at 'PG' state 'Moderate violence, without detail, may be allowed if justified by its context (for example, history, comedy or fantasy)'.
