JACKASS 3D is a US feature based on the American TV series in which a group of men play a series of elaborate practical jokes on each other, many involving a high degree of pain and/or social embarrassment. The film was classified '18' for extremely crude and dangerous stunts and strong nudity.
Several of the crude stunts in the film involve defecation, urination and vomiting, including a 'human volcano' projecting excrement into the air and a man surprising his friends by urinating all over them. The film also features a stunt in which a man is locked into a portaloo full of human faeces, which is then bungeed into the air, covering the man in excrement. This kind of behaviour using real human excreta would be likely to confound audience expectations below the '18' level. However, given the comic nature of the scenes and the lack of any sexual element, the scenes in question are unlikely to be considered in breach of the Obscene Publications Act 1959.
Strong nudity is sometimes seen in conjunction with these stunts, including sight of a man's penis attached by a string to a toy helicopter and an extreme close up of a man urinating, filmed using a small camera attached to his penis.
Although many of the pranks and stunts shown in the film would be allowable at '15' (eg hitting unsuspecting victims with a massive model hand and a man in a gorilla suit trashing a family living room) the film also includes some dangerous stunts that could cause serious damage if imitated, such as super gluing people together by the skin and painfully ripping them apart, and using tasers and electrical prods in a careless fashion.
Animals are used in some of the stunts, although none of them are mistreated in a manner that is in breach of the Cinematograph Films (Animals) Act 1937. There is also strong language throughout the film.
