JAB TAK HAI JAAN is a subtitled Hindi language romantic drama set in both London and India. A young couple fall in love and make plans to spend the rest of their lives together. However, unforeseen events conspire to separate them and the man returns to India and joins the army. The film is rated 12A for one use of written strong language.
The single use of strong language ('f***') occurs during a song and dance number set in what appears to be an old London Underground tunnel that has been converted into a club and dance venue. The term in question, which is only very briefly seen on the screen, is included in graffiti that has been scrawled on a tunnel wall. There are also three occasions in the film during which a character says, "What the f..", with only the initial 'f' sound audible. There is some moderate and mild bad language, including the terms 'arsehole', 'arse', 'bitch', 'bloody', 'frigging', 'hell', 'God', and 'screwed'.
JAB TAK HAI JAAN also includes a sequence in which a couple are seen in bed together. They kiss but there is no other sexual activity or nudity.
The film also contains some mild injury detail resulting from road traffic accidents but this is confined to the sight of a little blood on a male casualty's forehead.
No-one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. No-one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video or DVD.
