THE IRON LADY is a drama about the life of Margaret Thatcher, revisiting in flashback some key events in her political life, including her rise to power, the Falklands War, and the poll tax riots.
- Violence
News footage shows rioting in the streets with policemen hitting protesters with truncheons.
- Injury detail
The film includes news footage from the 1984 Brighton hotel bombing, in which we briefly see a person with bloody injuries on a stretcher. There is sight of a man face down on the ground with some blood around his head and an apparently injured or dead horse on the ground.
- Nudity
There is also news footage of two topless women celebrating in public after the Falklands War.
The film also contains some mild bad language ('bugger', 'bloody', 'bastards').
There are a few brief scenes of smoking, reflecting the period in which the film is set, but the film as a whole neither glamorises nor promotes smoking and is not aimed at children.
