IDA is a subtitled Polish language drama, set in the 1960s, in which a novice nun discovers she is Jewish and sets off to find out how her parents died and where they are buried.

Suicide

In one scene, a woman commits suicide by jumping out of a window. There is no injury detail and no focus on the activity.

The film also contains some descriptions of violence in scenes referring to the murder of civilians during wartime. There is also some mild bad language (‘slut', 'hell', 'God’, 'Jesus'). In one scene, it is implied that a young man and woman have sex; however, the scene is undetailed. There are also scenes in which people smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. These reflect the time in which the film is set and the film shows some negative consequences of alcohol consumption.
