ICE COLD IN ALEX is a 1958 British war film about two soldiers who must convey an ambulance with two nurses from a Libyan city that is expected to be invaded by Germans, to Alexandria in Egypt. The film was originally classified 'A' (under 16s should be accompanied by an adult) for cinema release in 1958 and it was subsequently classified 'PG' on video in 1988. This cinema re-release has been classified 'PG' for mild violence and language.

The film contains a scene in which the British group come under fire from a German patrol. A nurse is hit in the stomach and mortally wounded. The actual impact is not seen, although there is a brief shot of the woman clutching her stomach wound with some blood on her hands (the film is in black and white). The film includes other scenes in which the team are threatened by armed Germans. There is a scene in which a man becomes stuck in an area of quicksand and we see him disappear under before he is successfully rescued. At 'PG' the BBFC's Guidelines state 'Moderate violence, without detail, may be allowed, if justified by its context (for example, history, comedy or fantasy)'.

The film also includes some mild bad language such as uses of 'bloody' and 'hell'.
