OF HORSES AND MEN is a subtitled Icelandic film about the relationship between a group of people and their horses.

Sex

There is a scene in which a man and a woman have sex in a field.

Language

There are four uses of strong language ('f**k'), as well as some milder bad language ('shit', 'god', 'damn').

Disturbing images

The film contains a scene in which a man and horse are lost in a snowstorm. The man kills the horse, cuts it open and seeks shelter inside it. During the scene there is sight of the animal's intestines as they are removed before he crawls inside its body. Subsequently there is sight of the dead horse and its intestines lying frozen in the snow. There is no actual animal cruelty. In another scene a man is struck in the face by a barbed wire fence. His eyes are badly injured and his face becomes bloodied.

There is a scene in which a man inadvertently drinks neat alcohol, vomits and dies. Another scene shows two horses engaged in sexual activity.
