HALF OF A YELLOW SUN is a historical drama, following the lives of four people during the Nigerian-Biafran War of 1967-1970.
- Violence
In one scene, several men and women are massacred in an airport terminal. There are some blood spurts as people are shot, and several women are then dragged away and forced to kneel before being executed.
- Sex
In one scene, a man is seen thrusting on top of a woman. There is no nudity.
The film also contains some scenes of moderate threat, for example when a young woman narrowly escapes a man who is wielding a machete. There is also some mild bad language, including uses of 'bloody' and 'shit'. There are several scenes of smoking, reflecting the 1960s setting.
