GOLTZIUS AND THE PELICAN COMPANY is a drama in which a 16th century printer and engraver is required to reproduce some of his erotic prints as live tableaux at the behest of a patron.

Nudity

There is full frontal male and female nudity throughout, including sight of erect penises. Some of the nudity occurs in a sexual context.

Violence

One scene shows a man being raped by another man, as part of an attempt to make him renounce his beliefs. The scene shows only limited detail and there is no suggestion that victim or perpetrator enjoy the attack. There are references to the victim urinating, vomiting and defecating.

Language

There are two uses of very strong language ('c**t'), both of which occur in a sexual context. There are also a number of uses of strong language ('f**k'), as well as various uses of milder bad language. The film also includes some racist language ('n*gger').

There are also scenes depicting sexual activity, including incestuous sexual activity, and some strong violence, including a man's fingers being cut off.

Some characters in the film are 'blacked up'.
