GOD OF WAR is a Mandarin language historical action war drama in which a general recruits an army to face samurai pirates.

Violence

People are stabbed and slashed with swords and others are shot with arrows or bullets, resulting in spurts of blood. A man pins another man to the floor during a fight and cuts his throat. A man's arm is severed in battle. There are also brief images of severed heads on spikes, with glimpses of wound detail. Milder violence includes stylised hand-to-hand combat.

Brief and infrequent references to sexual violence include a sequence in which struggling women are captured and dragged away by pirates.

There is a brief scene of ritual suicide, with moderate bloody detail. Other issues include infrequent mild sex references and mild bad language.
