GLYNDEBOURNE'S DON GIOVANNI is a live recording of a performance of Mozart's opera from the 2010 Glyndebourne festival, sung in Italian, with English subtitles.

Violence

The main character batters a man to death with a brick, with several blows heard making contact. However, the actual impacts are hidden. As the victim crawls down the steps and dies, there are several close up shots of his bloodied head. Some further blood is seen later in the work, as the same man's bloody corpse comes back to life.

Sex

Sex references include comments about seduction and adultery, and one woman accusing the main character of raping her. A jealous husband calls his wife 'unfaithful slut ... little tart'. A character pushes a woman up against a wall and lifts her skirts, but they are interrupted.

Language includes uses of 'damn', as well as the uses of 'slut' and 'tart'. Characters are occasionally seen smoking.
