THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN is a US mystery thriller in which a woman becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind a person's disappearance.

Language

There is frequent use of strong language, including 'f**k' and 'motherf**ker'. Milder terms include 'shit', 'ass', 'bitch' and 'whore'.

Sex

There are several brief sex scenes, including a man thrusting into a woman from behind and a woman riding a man in bed. Some of these scenes contain breast or full nudity.

Violence

There is a scene in which a character is stabbed in the neck, causing a spurt of blood. In another scene, a character stamps on another's head and then hits her repeatedly with a rock. There is some sight of blood but we do not see the blows impacting.

Other issues include references to domestic violence and alcoholism.
