THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB is an action crime thriller sequel in which a hacker must revisit the scene of her childhood traumas in order to prevent a deadly piece of military software from falling into the wrong hands.

Violence

People are shot or stabbed, causing spurts of blood. A character is tortured with suffocation in vacuum-sealed latex. A man is suspended upside down and tasered. Other violence includes fist fights featuring heavy blows, and sustained use of an electric cattle prod. References to domestic violence include sight of a woman who has been badly beaten.

Injury detail

There are occasional images of bloody wounds including sight of bone protruding from a broken leg. A man removes facial prosthetics to reveal that his nose and much of his upper jaw are missing.

Language

There is use of strong language ('fuck', 'motherfucker'); milder terms include 'bitch' and 'shit', in addition to use of the rude 'middle finger' gesture.

Sex

A nightclub scene features sight of people having sex in toilet cubicles. In another scene, a man is briefly shown thrusting into a woman from behind on a phone. Sex references include sight of a bag full of sex toys.

There are non-graphic references to child sexual abuse. Scenes of threat include the abduction of a child. After being drugged involuntarily, a woman crushes and inhales amphetamine pills to counteract the effects.

This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
