G.I. JOE – RETALIATION is an action thriller about an elite group of U.S. Army Soldiers who fight to free the world from tyranny. It is rated 12 for moderate action violence.
There are long sequences of combat featuring martial arts moves, the use of martial arts weapons, and intense shoot outs. These are quickly edited, do not dwell on detail, and contain little bloodshed. When blood is shown it generally occurs in the aftermath of violence, indicating injury. This extended version includes some additional violence, but nothing which goes beyond the existing 12 rating.
G.I. JOE – RETALIATION also contains an implied use of strong language when a character says "Mother...". However, the second part of the word is completely obscured. There is also some milder bad language and some mild sex references.
No-one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. No-one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video or DVD.
