GEMMA BOVERY, a comedy drama, is a retelling of Gustave Flaubert's 'Madam Bovery' in which a young English couple arrive in a small Normandy town, their lives then playing out like the fictional characters in Flaubert's novel.

Sex

There are two strong but brief sex scenes. In the first a young woman straddles and gently 'rides' a young man sitting in an armchair. There is then male buttock nudity as he runs to answer a telephone. In the second scene the young man vigorously penetrates the young woman as she leans back on a table. She is wearing a bra but a nipple slips into view.

Language

There is occasional spoken and subtitled use of strong language ('f**k'). There is also moderate and mild bad language, including uses of 'arse', bloody', 'buggered', 'crap', 'shit', 'sod', 'piss off' and 'prick'.

Other issues include some mild sex and drug references and scenes of adult smoking.
