THE FUTURE is a comedy drama about a young couple who start to realise the changes that will occur in their lives when they adopt a cat that is due to be picked up in the next month.
- Language
There is infrequent use of strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder terms such as 'shit' and 'titty'.
- Sex
There is a scene in which a young woman is shocked when the middle-aged man she's befriended puts his hand on her knee and then roughly tries to kiss her. The woman gets up and walks away. However, the man walks up to her and takes her knickers off, before unzipping his trousers. There is brief sight of her buttocks as she stands waiting, before he positions himself behind her. This is followed by the sound of the woman groaning as a sofa knocks against a doorframe, implying sex. The scene ends at this point, with no further detail shown. The film also contains brief sex references when an old man reads out a dirty limerick he's written about Santa & Mrs Claus. However, the references are comic and undetailed.
