FINDING FELA is a documentary about the Nigerian musician and political activist Fela Kuti.

Drugs

Numerous references to Fela Kuti's cannabis use, and several shots of him holding and smoking large joints.

One sequence shows a man having his throat cut during a ritual, after which he is buried in the ground; this is quickly revealed to be trick. There are also images of war violence, including sight of dead bodies, images of political unrest and police beatings, and verbal references to the violent abuse of women by the Nigerian authorities during a raid on Fela Kuti's house. There are also numerous references to Kuti's sexual lifestyle.
