FENCES, a US drama set in Pittsburgh in the 1950s, tells the story of a working class black man's struggle to make ends meet, and his relationship with his wife and sons.

Language

There are several uses of the terms 'nigger', 'Negro' and 'coloured', all spoken by black characters when addressing or talking to family members or friends. There is also mild bad language, including uses of 'piss', 'screw up' and 'shit'.

Other issues include mild sex references, mild threat, mild violence and infrequent adult cigarette smoking.
