THE FAMILY is a crime drama about a Mafia boss and his family who are relocated to a sleepy Normandy village under a witness protection programme. It is rated 15 for strong violence, language and sex.

There are a number of shootings and stabbings, which include some bloody detail. Other scenes of violence include a man's face being pressed onto a barbecue grill and sight of a man who has been dragged behind a car.

There are around 40 uses of strong language ('f**k').

One sex scene features a clothed couple thrusting against a door.

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.
