DUM MAARO DUM

DUM MAARO DUM is a subtitled Hindi action thriller about a maverick policeman who takes on the drug Mafia in Goa. The film was classified '15' for hard drug use and infrequent strong violence.

The film includes a number of scenes portraying hard drug use. The images of hard drug use include stylised and close-up shots of pills being popped, sight of cocaine being snorted, as well as sight of syringes and tourniquets in the context of intravenous drug use. In addition, there is sight of drugs in a drug-dealing context, when bags of white powder being prepared are shown. The film also includes a handful of scenes that show characters casually smoking cannabis joints. The BBFC's Guidelines on drugs state that 'Drug taking may be shown but the film as a whole must not promote or encourage drug misuse'. The film as a whole does not promote or encourage drug misuse. The hero of the film is a policeman looking to stamp out drug crime after his family is killed in an accident involving a driver who was under the influence of drugs.

The film also contains infrequent scenes of strong violence. These include scenes in which the police take on criminals, including brief but bloody images of a stabbing to the throat, a knife stabbing, bloody bullet impact shots to a man's back, and the close range shooting of a man in a car. The Guidelines on violence at '15' state 'Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury'.

The film also includes some mild language (eg 'shit', 'bastard') and muted strong language.
