THE DUFF is a US romantic comedy about a high school student who discovers she is the "Designated Ugly Fat Friend" in her social group, potentially jeopardising her hopes of finding a date.

Language: There is infrequent use of strong language ('f**k'), including two bleeped uses during out-takes played over the end credits. Moderate bad language also occurs, including uses of 'bitch' and 'whore'.
Sex: There are occasional moderate sex references, including to masturbation, comic references to 'banging' and older men having 'saggy balls', and a girl miming having sex with a shop mannequin.

There is a passing reference to whether a muscular teen is on steroids.
