THE DRUMMER AND THE KEEPER is an Irish drama in which a rock drummer with bipolar disorder befriends a teen with Asperger's syndrome.

Self harm

A man pours lighter fluid over his sleeve and sets his arm alight. His face registers no pain or panic, nor is there any visible injury detail. Later, his arm is seen completely bandaged.

Discrimination

There are two uses of 'retard', one casual and one in anger, spoken in reference to people with developmental disabilities and mental illnesses by another man with a mental illness. The work as a whole carries a positive anti-discrimination message.

Sex

There is a brief comic scene of implied oral sex.

A man punches another man's face in masked fashion, resulting in mild bloody injury detail. There is also some non-sexualised male rear nudity, occasional undetailed verbal references to suicide, and a couple of passing references to drugs.
