THE DROP is a US drama about a lonely barman who becomes an unwitting pawn in a mob crime, delving into his own dark past to protect himself.

There are multiple uses of strong language ('f**k'). Milder bad language includes uses of 'shit' and 'dick'.

A man shoots another in the neck, resulting in a large spurt of blood from the bullet impact, as well as blood oozing round the man's fingers as he tries to cover the wound. The man is shot again and left lying in a pool of blood. There is also sight of the bloody aftermath of unseen violence, including a man pinned to a van floor with a large drill bit through his shoe, a severed arm, and a man's beaten up face.

Other issues include occasional moderate sex references, such as a man being referred to as a 'pussy magnet'.

A woman also talks about having previously harmed herself by cutting her own neck while she was high on drugs. She says that she was a different person at the time and does not hurt herself anymore.
