BBFC insight:

DOM HEMINGWAY is a British crime drama in which a safe-cracker is released from prison, seeking what he's owed by his former partners.

Language

The film contains multiple uses of strong language ('f**k') throughout, as well as nine uses of very strong language ('c**t'). Seven of the uses of very strong language are self directed or comic in nature. The other two are directed aggressively between men, but are not accompanied by any physical violence. Both uses are justified as part of an emotional and drunken outburst which the character later comes to regret.

Sex

A strong sex scene occurs at the beginning of the film, showing a man's face and upper body as he launches into a lengthy monologue about how great his penis is - in size, shape and function. As he talks, he looks down towards his crotch and appears to reach orgasm, as another man rises up from a kneeling position, where it is implied he has been performing fellatio. The film also contains some sexualised breast nudity.

Drugs

Several scenes depict characters briefly chopping out and snorting lines of cocaine, but the film as a whole does not promote or glamourise drug misuse.

Violence

One strong but undetailed scene of violence shows a character delivering repeated knee blows to another man's crotch, and punches to his face, as revenge for an act of betrayal. The blows are not seen to make contact, but an aftershot shows the victim's badly beaten and heavily bloodied face.

This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
