DOG POUND is a drama about three prisoners who are sent to a US youth correctional facility.

Violence

For the most part, the film’s violent scenes avoid detail. When injuries are inflicted they are normally shown at some distance from the camera, are hidden by the positioning of characters arms and legs, or become lost in the general confusion of a large prison riot. However, one particularly strong scene depicts one inmate savagely beating another, with strong sound effects and accompanying sight of the victim’s bloody face.

Sexual violence is limited to a single pivotal scene in which one inmate is raped by another.

There are also multiple uses of strong language ('f**k') and a single use of very strong language ('c**t'). There are frequent strong sex references and one strong sex scene in which a young man performs oral sex on his girlfriend. There are also scenes of drug misuse and a suicide.
