DJANGO UNCHAINED is a western, set in the late 1850s, in which a bounty hunter engages the services of a slave he purchases.

Violence

Scenes include bloody shootings, including a sequence in which a man's head is blown open resulting in brief sight of brain matter. In another scene, two slaves are made to fight, including an implied eye-gouging, an arm break, and a man being killed with a hammer.

There are scenes of threat, including a man being strung up naked and threatened with castration. There is also use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') and racist language ('nigger'), the latter reflecting the period setting.
