DIVERGENT is a science fiction feature set in a future dystopia where heroine Beatrice discovers she does not fit into one of the state's fixed social groups, making her a threat to the system.

Violence

Moderate violence includes several shoot-outs, with a small amount of blood as someone is hit below frame. There's also a scene where Beatrice has been hit in the arm and someone puts their finger into the wound to provoke her, and a scene in which a knife is thrown and pins a woman's hand to the wall. This is shown without much blood or focus on the injury. Milder violence includes a number of training bouts with kicks and punches and occasional injury, such as a bloody nose.

Threat

Includes some knife threat as a knife is held to someone's throat, and a tense scene where knives are thrown to embed in the wall around Beatrice as she stands very still, like a circus trick.

Other issues include some bad language, including 'bitch' and 'asshole', references to suicide, some mild sexual activity, and a ritual where participants make a small cut on their hand with a knife in order to let a drop of blood fall into a bowl.
