THE DEVIL’S ROCK is a Kiwi horror feature, set during the Second World War, about a pair of New Zealand commandos who are sent to destroy a German gun post but discover a Nazi plot to use occult forces as a weapon against the allies. The film was classified ‘18’ for strong gore.

The film contains several scenes of strong gore as the commandoes discover the bloody remains of some murdered soldiers. However, the strongest scenes involve the bloody removal of a bullet from a stomach wound and the severing of a man’s head. These scenes exceed the BBFC’s Guidelines at '15' which state ‘Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury’ and that ‘The strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable’.

The film also contains some scenes of strong violence as soldiers are shot or stabbed and multiple uses of strong language.
