DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY! is a Hindi language detective drama set in Calcutta in 1943, in which the detective is asked to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a chemist.

Violence

Strong bloody violence includes several stabbings, including focus on a knife being twisted in a wound and a man stabbing out his own eye. There are also scenes showing bloody corpses, including that of a woman whose throat has been cut and that of a man who has a large sword slash across his chest with lots of blood soaked into his clothes.

Further issues include brief sight of some line drawings in a book of naked people in sexual positions, with no genital detail. There is also one use of strong language in a song lyric during the end credits, "Life's a f**king bitch, and then you die".
