DESPITE THE NIGHT is a French language drama in which a man attempts to track down a woman and finds himself drawn into a seedy underworld.

Violence

There are two scenes in which women wearing only bondage masks are bound and led into an underground basement where, after a brief sexual encounter, a man is handed a gun and told to shoot them. In one case, the woman is shot.

Sex

In one scene a woman performs fellatio on a man in the background. There are other scenes of sex during which a woman encourages a male partner to behave abusively towards her.

There is strong language, including 'f**k'. There are scenes in which people smoke crack and other drugs.
