THE DARKEST DAWN is a found footage-style horror film about an alien invasion.

Violence

Multiple characters are shot, resulting in sprays of blood. Other scenes of violence include several non-graphic stabbings, and a scene in which a dead man is found tied to a tree after his throat has been cut.

Language

There is frequent use of strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder terms such as 'shit', 'bitch', and 'bastard'.

Threat

Characters are captured and held at gunpoint by various violent groups while also trying to escape an alien threat that infects its victims, turning them into zombie-like creatures.

Other issues include sexual threat directed towards a teenaged girl when she is kidnapped by soldiers who announce to her companions that she has a 'different job now'. She is later found being held at gunpoint in a bedroom. There are no explicit visual or verbal references to sexual violence.
