DARK RIVER is a UK drama in which a woman returns to her village following the death of her father, and subsequently applies for tenancy of her family's farm.

Language

There are uses of strong language ('f**k'), as well as some milder bad language (for example, 'bitch', 'twat', 'pussy', 'shit', 'bastard').

There is also some tonal threat, including references to child sexual abuse, as well as brief sight of a father in bed with his adult daughter. However, the references are not strong.

The film also contains some brief scenes of violence, including a shooting followed by brief sight of injury detail. Another scene includes sight of a dead sheep with its stomach torn open; however, this is brief and there is no indication of any organised animal cruelty.

A sex scene between a man and a woman contains no strong visual detail as they both remain clothed.
