CUSTODY is a French drama in which a young boy becomes caught in the middle of a bitter custody battle between his estranged parents.

Threat

There are numerous tense scenes in which the central character, a young boy, is forced to spend time with his abusive father, a man with a noted history of violence who clearly terrifies the youngster. The tension escalates throughout the film, culminating in a scene in which the boy and his mother's lives are at immediate risk from the father.

Language

There are uses of strong language ('f**k') alongside milder terms such as 'prick' and 'asshole'.

Theme

The narrative explores issues surrounding domestic abuse, including scenes in which a man is seen to be emotionally and physically abusive to his child and spouse.
