COUNTRY STRONG is a drama about a country music singer embarking on a comeback tour after receiving treatment for her alcohol problem.

Theme

The central character's alcohol addiction is referenced frequently throughout the film. There are also a number of scenes in which the character relapses into uncontrolled drinking as her fragile emotional and psychological state struggles to cope with various pressures. The drinking is never glamorised and is always portrayed as having negative consequences for the character and those around her.

Suicide

A character attempts suicide by overdosing on pills. There is no detail on the act itself and the consequences of the character's actions are shown to be tragic.

There is a moment of moderate violence when a man punches another man in the face with impact detail.

There are uses of mild bad language such as 'Jesus Christ', 'God', 'damn'. 'pee', 'ass', 'asshole' and 'shit'.
