CITIZEN JANE: BATTLE FOR THE CITY is a US documentary about journalist Jane Jacobs's fight to preserve historic New York City neighbourhoods from developers in the 1960s.

Discrimination

In a short piece of historical footage, civil rights activist James Baldwin describes racist attitudes and behaviour towards African Americans in New York City. This footage includes use of the terms 'nigger' and 'negro'.

Drugs

There are infrequent, brief verbal references to drug misuse, as well as an image of discarded drug paraphernalia.
