Note: The following text may contain spoilers

CHINATOWN is a 1974 feature set in 1930s Los Angeles, following a private detective who uncovers corruption in the water industry, resulting in murder.

Violence

A man has his nose cut open with a knife, and while the infliction of the injury is brief it is nevertheless a sadistic and bloody assault.

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k') and moderate sex references. References to adultery and incest arise in the investigations and character relationships, although both are treated with relative discretion throughout.
