BUSHWICK is a US disaster action thriller in which two people team up in an attempt to survive a military invasion of New York City.

Language

There is frequent use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker'). Milder terms include 'bitch', 'pussy', 'shit', 'bullshit', 'dick', 'piss', 'ass' and 'asshole'.

Violence

There are frequent shootings, occasionally resulting in spurts and sprays of blood. People are killed by explosives including Molotov cocktails, and we see several people on fire. One man hits another with a bat. There are also several brief scenes of hand-to-hand combat featuring heavy blows. In one of these scenes a man twists another man's arm until it breaks with a loud 'crack' sound.

Threat

Two people attempt to navigate a city under attack in almost real time, resulting in strong sustained threat throughout. There are several prolonged gun battles in which multiple people are killed. In a scene of sexual threat, a young woman is cornered by two armed men who imply that they intend to rape her; the woman is soon rescued, however.

Injury detail

There is brief aftermath sight of severe burns over a man's face. A piece of glass is removed from a man's leg in close-up, resulting in a spurt of blood. The wound is then cauterised using a heated knife, although much of the detail occurs off screen. There are several aftermath images of a bloody wound after a woman's finger is severed during a gun fight. There is also occasional sight of bleeding stab and bullet wounds.

Sex

Infrequent strong sex references include use of the word 'pussy'.

Other issues include a scene of marijuana use. The work as a whole does not endorse drug misuse. In one scene a man dies after shooting himself in the head; however, there is no graphic detail.
