THE BOYS IN THE BAND is a US drama in which a straight man is invited to a birthday party attended by several gay men.

Language

There is infrequent very strong language ('c**t'), as well as strong language ('f**k'), and milder terms (for example, 'prick', 'bitch', 'son of a bitch', 'slut', 'pissed', 'shit', 'bullshit', 'asshole', 'ass', 'crap', 'screwed', 'balls', 'goddamn', 'damn', 'Christ', 'Jesus').

Sex

There are strong references to oral sex including anilingus.

Discrimination

There is homophobic language ('pansy', 'queen', 'sissy', 'fairy, 'faggot', 'fag', 'fruit') and use of racist terms such as 'nigger' and 'spade'. There is also a scene in which a man says to a black man, "Why don't you have a piece of watermelon and hush up?".
