BOUND BY BLOOD is a drama about a woman who tracks down her long lost sister and discovers that she is in an abusive relationship.

Language

There are over fifty uses of strong language ('f**k' and 'motherf**ker'), as well as uses of milder bad language such as 'prick' and 'bitch'.

Sex

There are references to one of the main characters being a prostitute. We do not see any abusive sexual activity, but she is seen chained to a man's bed, face down, before she is rescued. She is wearing underwear but there is no nudity.

Violence

The strongest violence occurs when a man puts his hands around a woman's neck to strangle her. She makes choking sounds but is quickly rescued. There are some fistfights, with undetailed blows, and a shooting that results in some blood on the victim's shoulder and hands.

The film also includes a scene in which two women smoke marijuana.
