BOL BACHCHAN is a Hindi language comedy about a man who lies about his identity in order to keep working for a local enforcer in the village. It was classified '12A' for moderate violence.
The film contains some scenes of moderate violence when conflict occurs between the hero, his gangster employer and the thugs of a rival gangster in the village. One extended fight scene is very stylised and hyper-realistic in nature, as sound effects and ultra-slow motion shots accompany a flurry of bloodless punches and flying kicks delivered by the heroes. The sound is used to give the violence an unreal and cartoon-like quality. The recipients of the blows from the heroes are seen spinning around and flying in the air in very slow motion each time they are hit. The BBFC's Guidelines at '12A'/'12' state 'Moderate violence is allowed but should not dwell on detail. There should be no emphasis on injuries or blood'. There is no detail of blood or injury and the two fight scenes in the film are part of a comedic story without any intended realism or seriousness attached to it.
The film also contains Hindi and English uses of mild bad language (eg ‘bastard’, 'bloody', 'crap').
