Note: The following text may contain spoilers

BLUE JASMINE is a drama about a formerly wealthy socialite whose life is in crisis.

Language

There are two uses of strong language (‘f**k’), both of which are used in anger, but neither is directed at anybody. The film also contains a single use of discriminatory language when a woman describes a man's best friend as 'retarded', which is not condoned.

Sex

There are various references to a man's numerous affairs with other women, including his 'sleeping with other women for years', to prolific 'cheating' and to having had an affair with 'a stupid French whore' and they reinforce a woman's feelings of betrayal.

Suicide

The film contains accounts of a man committing suicide by hanging himself.

The film also contains references to poor mental health and behaviour, and to prescription drugs.
