BLOOD TIES is a US crime drama, set in New York in 1974. It focusses on a pair of brothers, one of whom is a police detective, while the other is a career criminal.
There are approximately 130 uses of strong language ('f**k'), as well as various uses of milder bad language, including 'assholes', 'balls', 'bitch', 'bullshit', 'dicks', piss', 'prick', 'shit', 'son of a bitch' and 'whores'.
Strong violence comes mostly in the form of shootings. There are blood spurts and bloody bullet impacts, but little is seen in terms of injury detail. In one scene a bottle is smashed over a man's head. The victim is then repeatedly punched and stomped on, below frame. At the conclusion of the assault his face is streaked with blood
A single sex scene involves a man thrusting into a woman.
A young woman in a brothel is seen to snort white powder.
Additional issues include infrequent use of racist and derogatory terms, some moderate verbal sex references, and male buttock nudity.
