THE BLING RING is a US drama based on a true story about a group of Californian teenagers who broke into the houses of celebrities and stole clothes and jewellery. It is rated 15 for strong language and drug use.

There is frequent use of strong language ('f**k') as well as milder terms including 'bitch' and 'shit'.

Drug use is shown frequently, with scenes of teenagers sharing joints, smoking from bongs and glass pipes, and snorting lines of cocaine. The drug use is part of the group's hedonistic lifestyle and commonly occurs at parties and on nights out. However, drug use is not the focus of the film, nor of the characters' lives. It is just one aspect of the overall picture and the film as a whole does not endorse drug use.

The main focus is the burgling of celebrities houses. But the teenagers are made to face serious consequences and their behaviour is clearly not condoned.

Sexualised dancing, but without nudity, and gun threat also feature.

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.
